January, Amandra Purcell, Women's Basketball

Amandra Purcell (Hudson, NH), a guard for the women's basketball team, has been named the Rivier College Female Student-Athlete of the Month.  Purcell started all 11 games for the Raiders during the month of January, leading the team in minutes played (30.5), points per game (13.1), 3-pointers made (30) and 3-point shooting percentage (.417).  Purcell led the Raiders to a 7-4 record (including 6 straight to start the new year).  On January 28th, Amandra had a career-high 25 points in a win over Lasell College and followed that up on January 30th with a team-best 19 points in a 2-point loss to Suffolk University. For the month, Purcell averaged 13.1 points per game while dishing out 2.5 assists and grabbing 3.5 rebounds per game.  Purcell majors in Education at Rivier College.
