September Student-Athletes of the Month

Lindsay Rettenmeier (Ashford, CT), a freshman on the Rivier College Field Hockey team was named the Rivier Female Student-Athlete of the Month for her contributions to her team during the month of September.  Lindsay has started off the season great, leading the team with 3 goals during the month of September and lead­ing the Raiders to the first victory for this first year program.  In that victory over Regis College, Lindsay scored a hat trick with 3 of the 4 goals in the 4-1 vic­tory.  She continues to work hard and plays every minute of every game. She started out as a wing and has moved to the mid position and is holding her ground great.

Gustavo Marques (Lowell, MA), a senior captain for the Rivier College Men's Soccer team was named the Rivier Male Student-Athlete of the Month for his contri­butions to his team during the month of September.  Gustavo has returned to the field after missing all of last season with a knee injury.  During the month of September he was among team leaders in goals scored and scored the game winner in Rivier's win against Newbury College.  His leadership on the field is starting to rub off the right way on the young new Rivier players as he continues to be among the leaders in every category for the Raiders.
