Rivier Basketball Teams Gear Up For GNAC Tourney
Nashua, NH- Both the of the Rivier Men's and Women's basketball teams ended their seasons this past week and have secured the 8th seed respectively as they head into their GNAC tournaments. The Men will be facing the top seeded Albertus Magnus while the Women will be going to Emmanuel as they take on the top seeded Saints.
The Raider Men ended their season with a win on Saturday to improve their record to 9-16 and 6-12 in the GNAC. In their first 17 games, they only won 4, but were in many of them as they had two over time losses and 6 games that were decided by 5 points or less. In their last 8 games, they went 5-3 which included upset wins over #1 Albertus Magnus, #4 Mount Ida, and #6 Lasell. The Raiders will be facing the Falcons this Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
The Raider Women didn't quiet end the season they would have liked to as they went 4-6 in their last 10 games after getting out to a 12-3 record to start the season. The Women will have a tough task head of them as they take on the reigning GNAC champion Saints of Emmanuel College. Emmanuel is the top team in the conference for the second year in a row with an overall record of 19-5. The Women will be traveling to Emmanuel on Tuesday February 23, 2010 for a 7:00 PM start.
