Pair of Raiders Gain All-Conference Recognition
Nashua, NH – Two members of the Rivier College basketball teams received Second Team All-Conference recognition for their efforts on the court this season. Don Poitras (Bow, NH) a member of the men’s basketball team, and Jess Mellen (Rockland, MA) a member of the women’s team, were both announced to the second team All-GNAC last night.

New Haven, CT - The Albertus Magnus College Men's Basketball Team used a 10- run midway through the second half to secure an 80-61 victory over visiting Rivier College.

Monks make it Rain against Rivier
STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's (18-6, 13-4 GNAC) made 13 three-pointers and shot nearly 60% from beyond the arc in an 81-50 victory over Rivier College (8-16, 5-12 GNAC) at the Harold Alfond Center on Wednesday night.

Rivier Upsets GNAC #1, 79-78
New Haven, CT- On Saturday afternoon, the Falcons dropped a heartbreaking loss to visiting Rivier 79-78. Albertus Magnus trailed 79-78 with time for one last play when freshman guard James Economopoulos’s (Wallingford, CT) three pointer rattled in and out as the buzzer sounded handing the Falcons their second loss in as many games.

Johnson & Wales Men’s Basketball Defeats Rivier, 90-60
Providence, R.I. – Sophomore Lamonte Thomas (Providence, R.I.) scored a game-high 25 points and added seven assists and three rebounds to lead the Johnson & Wales University men’s basketball team to a 90-60 win against Rivier in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest at the Harborside Recreation Center on Thursday evening.

Rivier Loses a Heart Breaker In Final Seconds
Nashua, NH- Rivier (4-12, 1-8) lost a last second heart break, 77-76, that set them further back in the conference rankings to a good St. Joe’s of Maine team (12-4, 7-2) as Zach O’Brien (Schenectady, NY) hit the final shot with less than a second to go to seal the game for the Monks.

Boston, Mass. – The Rivier College Raiders (4-10 overall, 1-6 GNAC) edged the Suffolk University Men’s Basketball team (5-9 overall, 1-5 GNAC), 66-62 on Monday afternoon at the Regan Gymnasium to pick up their first win in GNAC conference play this season.

Rivier Struggles in Second Half vs JWU
Nashua, NH- Rivier seemed to have a cover on the basket as they struggled to find the whole in the second half as they lose to conference foe Johnson & Wales 72-58. Rivier kept the game close at half by shooting 57% from the floor with a score of 37-34, but never came close to catching the Wildcats as they went 0-7 from behind the arc in the last half of the game.

Rivier Falls to NEC in Final Seconds of the Game, 81-80
Nashua, NH- Rivier falls to 1-2 on the season after a tough 81-80 loss to the New England College Pilgrims (3-2). The Pilgrims had the lead with 2.9 seconds left in the game, but could not find a way to get the ball in thanks to good defense from the Raiders. The Raiders had the ball under their own basket but could not put the ball in the hoop before time ran off the clock.

Colby-Sawyer Gets Revenge on Rivier and Wins Tip Off Tournament
Nashua, NH- After dropping the Tip Off Tournament Championship last season to Rivier as well as an ECAC tournament game, the Colby-Sawyer Chargers defeated the Rivier Raiders in the championship game of the All Metals Industries/Rivier Tip-Off tournament 73-54.

Rivier & Colby-Sawyer Meeting in Championship Game for Second Straight Season
Nashua, NH - Rivier College and Colby-Sawyer College will face off in the championship game of the All Metals Inustries/Rivier Tip-Off Tournament for the second year in a row. Rivier defeated Anna Maria in the first game 65-60, while Colby-Sawyer defeated Daniel Webster 71-68 in the night cap.

New Rolls Could Lead to Success This Year…
With only one senior Luke Brownell (Hubbardston, MA) returning Rivier College will be looking at the young guys to help lead them this year. Last season the Raiders had one of the best seasons in school history making it to the ECAC Finals and finishing 16-13.
