Men's Soccer Follows Suit and Names 2 Raiders to All Conference Teams
Nashua, NH - After a slow start, the men's soccer team finished the season by winning 3 of their final 5 games. In return, junior Chris Nugent (Camberley, Surry - England) was named to the GNAC All-Conference 3rd Team while sophomore Cameron Williams (Lisbon, NH) was named to the GNAC All Sportsmanship team.

Cameron Williams (Lisbon, NH), was named the Rivier College Male Student-Athlete of the Month for October. Kenna Finlayson (Derry, NH), was named the Rivier College Female Student-Athlete of the Month for October.

Raiders Break through in Overtime for 3-2 Win
Nashua, NH In a thrilling overtime game, the Raiders of Rivier College secured a 3-2 victory over Elms College with just 2:28 to play in the first overtime when Chris Nugent (Camberley, England) was able to take a centering kick and put in the lower left corner for a goal, his second goal of the game and the game winner.

NORWICH BEATS RIVIER, 4-1
NORTHFIELD, Vt. The Norwich University mens soccer locked up a home game in the first round of the upcoming Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament with a 4-1 victory over league rival Rivier College Sunday afternoon at Howard Field.

During a 1-1 week, Gustavo helped the Raiders to their first conference victory of the year against Suffolk University by scoring 2 goals and recording 1 assist in the 4-2 victory.

Lindsay Rettenmeier (Ashford, CT), a freshman on the Rivier College Field Hockey team was named the Rivier Female Student-Athlete of the Month for her contributions to her team during the month of September.
Gustavo Marques (Lowell, MA), a senior captain for the Rivier College Mens Soccer team was named the Rivier Male Student-Athlete of the Month for his contri-butions to his team during the month of September.

Raiders Win First GNAC Contest of 2009
The Raiders said Hello to the Rams of Suffolk University today in a Great Northeast athletic Conference contest. The Rivier College team walked away with a well earned 4-2 victory.

Rivier College and Daniel Webster College renewed acquaintances tonight in the Gate City Match up. The Eagles scored early and late to get the win 3-2.

Raiders Lose Tough Battle With Lynx
Rivier played host to the Lynx of Lesley University tonight at the Raider Athletic Complex and fell short by a score of 3-2. The Raiders are coming off a 10 day stretch where they have played 5 games. All of the goals were scored in the first half.

The Rivier College Mens Soccer team battled a talented WPI squad tonight at Raider Field. The teams played cautious soccer throughout the first half. Each teams defense thwarting the others attack.

Men's soccer player Mike Birecki, field hockey player Lindsay Retenmeier and cross country runner Maria DeRosa were all named either Player or Rookie of the Week for their repective sport.

The Rivier College Mens Soccer team travel to Hedley Field on the campus of Pine Manor College for todays match up against The Newbury College Nighthawks where the Raiders grabbed their first win of the season with a solid 3-0 victory.

Raiders Battle Hard But Come Up Short
The Raiders capped off a fun-filled day of games at the newly blessed Raider Field with a hard fought battle vs. conference rival Johnson & Wales University. JWU opened the scoring in the 23rd minute to take a 1-0 lead. In the 39th minute the Raiders knotted the match. Junior Midfielder Gustavo Paiva (Nashua, NH) entered the game as a substitute. Paiva immediately took control with his ball possession and laser-like passing.

Fast Pilgram Attack Leaves Rivier On the Back End of a 3-1 Game
Pats Peak Ski Area and the 1st remnants of fall where the backdrop for the Rivier College Mens Soccer match at New England College. The Raiders gave up goals in the 10th, 28th and 55th minutes to a very organized and fast playing Pilgrim squad as New England College sealed the 3-1 victory over Rivier.

Eric Maciag notched three goals, including the game-winner with 22 minutes remaining to give Delaware Valley a 4-3 victory over Rivier in the first round of the invitational.
