Marques Named GNAC Player of the Week

During a 1-1 week, Gustavo helped the Raiders to their first conference victory of the year against Suffolk University by scoring 2 goals and recording 1 assist in the 4-2 victory.  The first goal came in the first half when a corner kick by teammate Eric Moreno went off the head of teammate Robbie Belcher and landed at the feel of Marques.  Marques blasted the ball into the upper left corner of the net to tie the game at 1-1.  Gustavo then assisted on the eventual game winner as he set up fellow captain Chris Nugent for a goal off an indirect kick from left of the box.  Marques then capped off the scoring by blasting a shot past the goal keeper from a straight on indirect kick from just outside of the box, giving the Raiders a 4-2 victory.  Gustavo and the Raider squad will take on Emmanuel College in Nashua, NH on Wednesday October 21 at 7:00 PM to try for their first back to back wins of the season.
