Brian Joaqium Stand Out at NEISL All-Star Game

Brian Joaquim (Mont Vernon, NH) had a wonderful showing in the NEISL All-Star game held Sunday November 28th at Soldiers Soccer Stadium on the campus of Harvard University. Brian started the game as a striker and almost immediately showed his worth. About 10 minutes into the match Brian won a ball in the midfield, dribbled towards the top of the 18 yard box and slotted a pass that would be finished to give the Black team a 1-0 lead.

What is the N.E.I.S.L.?

The New England Intercollegiate Soccer League was founded in 1934 making it the oldest soccer league in the American Collegiate ranks today. There are currently nearly 80 institutions that comprise the NEISL organization. These institutions represent NCAA Division I, II, and III and NAIA Athletic Associations.

Brian turned in his next great play from a defensive position. Brian won this ball in his defensive half of the field, dribbled into the attacking half of the pitch and played a tremendous bending ball down the right flank where the forward touched the ball past his defender and served a ball to the back post the was headed in on a great diving header. Brian was accompanied to the game by his parents [John & Jeanne (Rivier 1981)] and girlfriend Jess.
