Andreozzi & Lindner Named Player and Rookie of the Week
Junior outside hitter Jared Andreozzi (Barrington, RI) was named the GNAC Men's Volleyball Player of the week after leading the Raiders to a 4-0 week and their third straight GNAC Championship. Andreozzi was named GNAC Championship Tournament MVP after leading the Raiders to a 3-0 victory over Emmanuel College. Jared registered 20 kills with only 1 error on 25 attempts for a .760 hitting percentage to lead the Raiders on offense. For the week, which consisted of 4 wins including a. avenging win over AVCA #9 ranked Endicott College, Jared registered 5.50 kills per game with a .544 hitting percentage with 44 kills on only 68 attempts.
Freshman middle hitter Taylor Lindner (Cheshire, CT) was named the GNAC Rookie of the Week after he had a great week in helping the Raiders to a 4-0 record. Lindner hit .349 on the week with 22 kills on 43 attempts with just 7 errors. Taylor's best match came against Endicott College, where he dropped 12 kills on 19 attempts with 2 hitting errors for a .526 hitting percentage and contributed with 8 blocks on defense. Taylor registered 1.50 blocks per game this week, which is higher than his season average of 1.20.
