Rivier Sweeps Lasell

No-7 Rivier College (10-1 GNAC; 23-6 overall) defeated Lasell College in three straight sets on Tuesday night to win their 10th GNAC match of the season.  Rivier used steady ball control, making just 2 errors on receive, along with a solid block (10) and floor defense (35 digs) to handle the home Lasers.  The back row quorum of Kyle O'Neill, Drew Corwin, Andrew Paine, Steve Visentin, and Steve Wood did most of the work on receive while combining for 21 of the Raiders 35 digs.  Outside hitter Alex Xenidis put down 7 kills on 11 attempts with no errors for a .636 hitting percentage to lead the offense while Jared Andreozzi, Taylor Lindner, and Matt Ferreira registered 15, 10, and 9 kills respectively.  Setter Zach Hansen dished out a match high 37 assists and laced in a match high 5 ace serves while Jamison Chue and Steve Wood made a difference with their serves. 

Rivier will return to The Muldoon on Tuesday March 16 and Wednesday March 17.  On March 16 MIT will challenge the Raiders at 7:00pm while on March 17 Division I Harvard University will make a trip to Nashua for a 7:00pm match.
