Rivier Cross Country Teams Finish 6th and 7th

Nashua, NH - It was a perfect day for a run, as 10 teams gathered at Rivier College to take part in the Rivier Raider Cross Country Invitational. On the women's side, Emerson College took team first place and also had the overall top finisher in Cat Viglienzoni, who finished the 3.1 mile race with a time of 21:46.
St. Joseph's of Maine came in second followed by Norwich, Colby-Sawyer, NHTI, Rivier, Lasell, Daniel Webster and Franklin Pierce. Suffolk University could not score team points because they did not have at least 5 runners participate.
The Raiders top runner, Rebecca Vincent came in 5th place overall with a time of 22:41.

On the men's side it was Norwich taking the top team spot as their top five runners came in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 9th, by far a dominant showing for the Cadets. The 1st place finisher was Joseph Rosenthal, who finished the 5 mile race with a time of 27:20, just six seconds ahead of 2nd place Kyle Openheimer of Emerson College.
Lasell College took home the team 2nd place, followed by St. Joseph's (ME), Emerson, NHTI, Daniel Webster and Rivier. Suffolk, Nashua Community College and Colby-Sawyer could not score team points as they did not have at least 5 runners participate for their team.
Rivier's top male finisher was Garon Whitney with a time of 35:52.
