White and Mansfield Receive GNAC Honors

Rivier junior Monica White (Augusta, ME) and sophomore Shannon Mansfield (Pelham, NH) were selected to GNAC All-Conference teams be their piers and coaches for their contributions to the women's softball team during the 2009 season.

White was named to the GNAC First Team All-Conference after posting a 10-10 record with a 1.17 ERA.  She threw 15 complete games while recording 180 strikeouts and only giving up 27 walks.  At the plate Monica was equally as impressive as she hit .333 on the season while playing in all 33 games during the season for the Raiders.  White was also 16 for 16 in stolen base attempts on the season.

Shannon Mansfield was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team after being voted on by her teammates.  Shannon is a utility player that filled in at a number of different positions during the season.  As well as being the backup catcher, Shannon spent time in the outfield and as a pinch runner.  Mansfield was 2 for 2 in stolen base attempts on the season and scored 6 runs.
