Raider Honors Keep Piling Up
Freshman Taylor Cournoyer (Mansfield, MA) has just been named the ECAC Rookie of the Year as well as being named an ECAC 1st Team All-Star. This recognition is a first for the Raider Softball Program. Cournoyer led the team in several offensive categories including batting average (.486), hits (68), RBI (49) and on-base percentage (.493). Out of Taylor's 68 hits, 23 of them were for extra bases. As good as Taylor was with the bat, she was even better with her glove. An outstanding shortstop, Cournoyer made several game-changing plays while showcasing great range and a strong, accurate arm. Taylor has received several honors this season including being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's (GNAC) Rookie of the Year. She was a 1st Team All Conference selection as well as being named to the NCAA Northeast Region 1st Team. Cournoyer was also nominated for All America consideration.
Senior Monica White (Augusta, ME) has been named an ECAC 2nd Team All-Star. Monica was nothing short of brilliant on the mound for the Raiders in her final season. She finished the year with 27 wins and a 0.98 earned run average. In 207 innings pitched, White had 315 strikeouts and held opposing batters to a .161 average. Monica was also dangerous with a bat in her hands. She finished the season with a .351 batting average with 6 doubles, 6 triples and 3 homeruns. White stole 13 bases and was flawless in the field. Monica White was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's (GNAC) Pitcher of the Year. In a first for the conference, White was also named the 2010 Player of the Year. Monica was named to the NCAA Northeast Region 1st Team and was nominated for All America consideration.
