Mellen Named to NEWBA Senior All-Star Classic

Nashua, NH – Rivier College senior Jess Mellen (Rockland, MA) has been named to the New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) Senior All-Star Classic basketball game.  The game has become a great tradition and memorable way for seniors to finish their collegiate careers.  This marks the first time in Rivier College history that a member of the women’s basketball program has been selected and invited to play in the All-Star Classic and there is no more of a deserving player than Mellen.  Mellen finished her career with 1246 points, 966 rebounds, 341 assists and 297 steals.  She was only the second player in GNAC history (male or female) to reach 1000 points, 500 rebounds and 300 assists in a career.  The game will be hosted this year by Western New England College on March 27 at 1:00 PM.
