FINLAYSON NAMED GNAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Kenna Finlayson (Derry, NH), a 5'9 freshman outside hitter for Rivier College, has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Rookie of the Week.  Finlayson led the Raiders to 2 wins last week. 

She started the week with a 14 kill, 2 dig, 2 ace performance, hitting .294, in the Raiders lone loss of the week against then No 6 in New England MIT.  She tallied a team high 9 kills on a .389 hitting percentage, and added 3 more ace serves in a sweep of Norwich University.  Later that day Finlayson followed up her opening act by tallying 7 more kills, while hitting .357, and totaling 3 more aces in a sweep of St Joseph College (CT).  Finlayson finished the week averaging 3.33 kills and .89 ace serves per game, and hit .333. 

This honor marks the first time Kenna and the Rivier volleyball team has received a GNAC honor this season.
